This policy brief examines the challenges of utilizing graduate theses in clinical health settings and proposes solutions. The core issue is the significant proportion of these research projects that never reach implementation, leading to wasted resources and reduced impact of health research. Key barriers are identified in four areas: low-quality and misaligned theses with real needs; lack of resources and poor knowledge management in the organizational environment; skill gaps and distrust among professionals; and inefficient policies and regulations. The consequences of this situation include declining healthcare quality and weakened evidence-based decision-making. Four key policy options are proposed: 1) Strengthening university-hospital collaboration to align research with clinical needs. 2) Enhancing the quality of student research through better training and supervision. 3) Developing knowledge management systems to facilitate access and translation of findings. 4) Reforming policies and increasing governmental financial support for applied research. Implementing these solutions requires securing funding, fostering cross-sectoral collaboration, and overcoming obstacles such as budget shortages, cultural resistance, and administrative bureaucracy.
