Study of “initial training effect” on health staff knowledge and attitude: Kashan 2007-2013

Abstract

Introduction:  Everyone on first working days in an organization requires specialized training related to their job duties, in order not to cause any activity and behavioral harm. So، the aim of the present study، is evaluating the effect of “initial education” on knowledge and attitude of Kashan University of Medical Science’s health team in2007-2013.
Methods & materials:  Two hundred and three new employees of Kashan University of medical Science were chosen by census. Study data was gathered by a researcher made questionnaire which was filled by participants as pre- and post-test. The questionnaire was validated by a pilot study. descriptive analysis was done by SPSS 16 software. 
Results:Mean of the pre-, post-test and upgrade scores were 50.55، 64.44، 15.3 respectively. Number of training courses، trainers، annually enforcement units were 41،29،14 respectively. The highest and lowest pre-test is department store drug supplies in 90years and statistics in 91، the  highest and lowest post-test is mental health 91 and  department store drug supplies 90 ، the  highest and lowest promote is school health 91 and health education86.
Conclusion:  Proper “initial training” can effectively increase new employee’s skills. This program requires special attention and annual revision according to new occupational needs. Successful trainings will increase services quality and provide satisfaction for employees.
