A survey on human resource distribution in Hospital affiliated with Sabzevar University of Medical Sciences

Abstract

Background and Aims: The hospital is the most expensive component of health systems and human resources are the most valuable factor of production and service delivery. Staffing shortages and surpluses can be effective in reducing the quality of patient care.This study aims to assess the manpower resources in educational hospitals affiliated to Sabzevar University of Medical Sciences.
Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study in a teaching hospital affiliated to Sabzevar University of Medical Sciences. All data, including information on staffing inpatient units, clinical and support departments of hospitals and hospital bed occupancy was alsoVice Chancellor of Sabzevar University of Medical Sciences and received the standard form derived from standards in 13 ministry of health and medical personnel. Data analysis was performed based on standards and using SPSS16.
Results: The results of the surveys conducted in the hospitals in this study show that 62 percent ofhospitals, shortage of health standards. All hospitals in units of physical therapy, pharmacy, nutrition, Accounting, laundry and administration have shortage. 100% of hospitals had a surplus of nursing staff.
Conclusion: General hospitals were faced with a shortage of manpower and personnel distribution of the various units was inappropriate. Proper planning and management of human resources in relation to the compensation of personnel shortages and deliver it to the standard level, thereby increasing the efficiency of hospital activities
