The role of the information source of cyberspace in the reaction of teenage girls to events related to puberty

Abstract

period or menstruation is the evolutionary process of girls' puberty, and examining the performance of them in facing this phenomenon of puberty is an important issue because improving its level is actually an investment to achieve personal and social health and neglecting the issues puberty of girls may have a negative effect on their health in the future.The aim of this study was to investigate the role of information sources in cyberspace in the reaction of teenage girls to events related to puberty.This studt was descriptive of the correlation type.For this study 280 female students who had experienced the first menstruation in second grade elementary and first grade high school in2024-2023academic years in Sabzevar and Joghatai cities, was participated byrandom sampling method.to collect thedata, standard questionnaire awareness and attitude andperformance of teenage girls about puberty health was used.In order to analyze data, correlation,statistical inference models such as z and t-test were used for the significance of Pearson correlation and analysis of variance forthe significance ofthe multiple regression equation.The results showed that61%of the participants had a negative reaction when faced with their first period. Among allthem who had a negative reaction, about67%were girls whose sources of information were about puberty,cyberspace and the Internet.The results of this research emphasize the importance of paying attention to the sources of information that girls received about puberty.In rural and underprivileged areas, educational planning should be put on the agenda to increase awareness about maturity and improve performance in the field of health with reliable sources.
