Introduction: Nosocomial infections are the most critical issue in health care system worldwide. With the implementation of a national nosocomial infections surveillance systems (NNIS), the situation and observance horizons are broadened.. This study was conducted on nurses' knowledge of these standards.
Materials and methods: This descriptive study was done 2010 in parts of the Icu hospital Sabzevar city. The sample of 50 male and female nurses working in the area conducting a study that enrolled. Sampling method was census. Means of data collection was, interview and questionnaire. The questionnaire validity was validated by content validity and the reliability was approved by test - retest method. Data were analyzed using spss software version 16, the absolute and relative frequency distributions and descriptive statistics.
result: The results of this study showed that nurses' knowledge grade about the standards was6/76 ± 1/33 from total score of (0-10); as well as their performance score of 35/10 ± 3/13 from total score of (0-66). Also in this section is based on standard equipment and accessories, 59 of the total score (0-84), respectively.
Conclusions: ICU nurses awareness of performance standards is average, so it seems, more attentive and responsible actions towards targeted training of nurses is essential. As compared to standard equipment and research environment at the middle level. Improvement requires regular support operations, integrated structure.
