Background: Present study has assessed the effect of empowering program on Hospital crisis management system. Hospitals and health care centers should be a safe place for patients, hospital staffs and other people; especially in time of crises and accidents. The empowering program as a quality monitoring and effective managing tool is a globally appreciated approach in promoting safety and service quality in health care centers.
Material and methods: Navigational approach was used in this research and 92 administrative and medical staffs of Sabzevar Vasee Hospital were randomly enrolled in this survey (questionnaire) in 2013. Chronbach’s alpha coefficient was used for determining the questionnaire reliability and one sample t-test was used for quantitative variables.
Results: The Chronbach’s alpha coefficient was 83 percent in our study. One sample t-test showed that the relation between education, organizational communication and patient’s safety in prevention or reduction of crisis was higher than average. Conclusion: proper training and having sufficient information about work’s issues, respecting safety and health at work and using proper equipment in crisis are efficient in preventing or reducing hazards. Empowering program has higher than average effect on crisis management system.
